Ever wondered who’s behind ACMS’s postgraduate programme?

Meet Dr Paddington Mutekwe (Postgraduate Coordinator, ACMS, University of the Witwatersrand), a sociologist whose research cuts across migration, platform labour, state–society relations, and emerging forms of resistance in Southern Africa. He completed his PhD in Sociology at the University of Johannesburg, where his doctoral work analysed resistance and repression among civil society organisations in Zimbabwe. As Postgraduate Studies Coordinator, he brings extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, across social theory, sociology of work, globalisation, and inequality.
