Amukelani Nyathi

Research Assistant

Amukelani Nyathi is a public health researcher with experience in clinical trials for HIV and TB. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from the University of Venda, and a Post Graduate Diploma is Public Health with the University of Pretoria, where she is currently pursuing her Masters degree.

She has experience in HIV prevention research, including qualitative research on PrEP among adolescent girls and young women with expertise in data, collection, participant engagement and study implementation. She is particularly interested in health promotion and addressing barriers to service uptake Amukelani currently works as a Research Assistant at the African Centre for Migration and Society, contributing to the Nurture for Youth study, which explores young people’s health, mobility and access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Services.
