Blessing Mukuruva

PhD

Blessing Mukuruva is a PhD candidate at ACMS currently in the data collection phase of his doctoral research, which explores the intersection of cross-border mobility, pandemic preparedness, and mobility governance at the South Africa-Zimbabwe borderscape. He holds a Masters in Migration and Displacement from the University of the Witwatersrand, obtained in 2021, and is an active member of the Migration Health and Development Research Initiative Early Career Researchers (MHADRI ECR). Blessing is also involved in the Global Health Research Group on Disrupting the cycle of gendered violence and poor mental health among migrants in precarious situations (GEMMS) project. His primary research interests include migration health governance and policies, health in transit, border health, the interplay between migration, health, and climate change, migration and health theories and mobility governance during health crises.
