The London International Development Centre Migration Leadership Team (LIDC-MLT) has now wrapped up a series of Global Migration Conversations, which has been running over the last two years. We partnered with LIDC-MLT to host the last of these conversations at Wits University on 27-28 June. Researchers, practitioners, policymakers, funders, working on internal and cross-border migration across disciplines in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East participated in this closed-door participatory two-day workshop to develop common guidelines for collaborative research and develop a toolkit to guide research, practice and ethics in the field of migration.
The information from the Global Migration Conversations has fed into a strategy setting out proposals for migration research priorities for the next five years (2020-2021). The draft strategy includes agreed upon ‘Johannesburg Principles’ in the appendix of the report. The draft strategy is now available here: https://www.soas.ac.uk/
