Catherine Musuva

Catherine Musuva is a senior researcher at the African Centre for Migration and Society (ACMS), University of the Witwatersrand. Her research interests are broadly around migration governance and democratic development in Africa. She manages the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence in Migration and Mobility and is also the ACMS postgraduate coordinator. Catherine holds a BA in International Relations (United States International University-Africa), an MA in Development Management (Ruhr University Bochum), an MPhil in Development Studies (University of the Western Cape) and a PhD in Political Science (Stellenbosch University). She has extensive international experience in research and project management and joined the ACMS after many years of working in the NGO sector in the field of democracy and governance. Catherine is also a research associate at the Centre for Research on Democracy (CREDO) at Stellenbosch University and a member of the Democratizing Globalization Working Group, a project of the Open Society Universities Network (OSUN).
