Nereida Ripero Muniz is a Spanish national who completed her PHD at ACMS in 2016. Her thesis was titled The Port and the Island: Identity, Cosmopolitanism and Islam among Somali Women in Nairobi and Johannesburg. She is currently working as a Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
