Sostina is from Zimbabwe. She completed her Masters in Migration and Displacement at ACMS in 2018. Hers research interest is in the field of international migration, labour and health. Her MA thesis title is, Sahwira mukuru anokunda weropa: social networks and precarity in the narratives of Zimbabwean undocumented waitrons. She is currently a PHD student at the school of Public health, Wits University.
